How to search the text inside your screenshots on iPhone

Tested with Screenshot Organizer - Sweepy 1.0.1 · listing checked September 29, 2026 · iPhone, iOS 15 or later

Short answer

The Photos app's search box can find many photos by the text in them. Sweepy adds a search scoped to your screenshots: type a word, an order number or part of an address and it searches the text inside them in Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese. Open a match to copy text with Live Text, add a note or tags, or set an expiry reminder for a ticket or coupon (Pro).

Search, then act on what you find

Type a word and Sweepy matches it against the text inside your screenshots. Open a result and the detail view lets you copy all the text, share the image, keep it, move it to Later or delete it.

Copy codes, addresses and numbers with Live Text

Live Text lets you select a confirmation code, an address or a phone number straight from the image and paste it elsewhere, without retyping. The detail view also has a Copy all text button for the whole screenshot.

Make the important ones easy to find again

Add a tag such as receipt or travel, write a short note, and file it into a folder that is a real Photos album — see organizing screenshots into albums. For tickets and coupons, Pro adds a reminder before they expire.

What this cannot do

  • Text search in Sweepy covers Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese.
  • Expiry reminders are a Pro feature.
  • Search runs on the iPhone; screenshots are not uploaded. iPhone only, iOS 15 or later.
